This volunteering app enables schools, parent groups, and the overall parent community to engage in all facets of the volunteering process in one secure,easy-to-use software application.

What is the Gaming Element?

Many schools have a volunteer hours quota. This can sometimes come across as a pure compliance exercise that negatively motivates people to volutneer. No more! This app uses proven “gamification” techniques and positive reinforcement to better engage the school community. Users select “saint avatars,” accumulate points (instead of hours), and can advance to different levels of volunteerism inspired by positive messaging from the saint avatar.

What does this cost and how do I pay?

There is a simple fixed monthly fee starting at $100 per month. Please review the Terms of Use for more information.

How do I access support?

There is a support icon on all versions of the app (desktop, tablet, mobile) that is available to all users. You will find answers to many of the common questions there. If you are the designated Leader for your school, you would also have the ability to submit questions through support@connect1.io.

Will there be updates to the app?

We are constantly looking to improve the app. To that end, updates will happen, but will not be disruptive to your school community. Any ground breaking changes will be announced on our website.

As the Leader, you will have the ability to (1) setup your school profile, including your school colors and logo (2) invite your school community, (3) see detailed reports of all volunteering activity, (4) assign roles to other community members, and (5) designate community members as being eligible or ineligible to volunteer for specified events per your school’s policy.

What is a "Theme" and why should the school do this?

“Theming”refers to adding your school’s specific logo and color scheme to make the app look like an extension of your website and other school-specific sites. This enables your school to showcase its technical prowess and to market to prospective families your innovative use of mobile applications.

How do I upload my school logo, header image, and school colors?

Make sure you have a high resolution image of your logo (in a 1:1 aspect ratio is best) and a header image (aspect ratio of 3:1 is best). Choose two school colors, a primary color and a secondary color. As soon as you select these and save, you will see the scheme of the app conform to your specific school!

What are the various roles that can be assigned by the Leader?

There are 3 roles. Leader = owner of the app with ability of all roles and privileges (e.g. School Leader or Parent Leader). You should not assign this role to anyone else unless you are absolutely sure; Creator = someone who has an ability to creat

What is Talent Matching?

We recognize that your event or requested position may require a specific talent, and your parent community is full of talents you can leverage to make your event more successful. This new feature will allow your community to engage in events aligned with their talents captured during the app registration process.

Why Should I add a Talent to My Event or Position?

Adding a talent to your event or position is not required, however, there are times when a specific talent may be needed. The app allows the flexibility to capture that information and users will have a new tab on the volunteer board to recommend “talent matched” volunteering roles. In addition, parents are more likely to volunteer for things that match their talents which ultimately will help increase parent engagement at your school.

What are the Talents to Choose For My Event?

There are a variety of talents to choose from within our Arts, Business, Education, Marketing and Technology categories. Based on the talents you select; the app will identify members of your parent community that have those talents.

The positions feature is formerly known as “All Year”. This feature is designed for any position needed during the school year in which a volunteer earns the maximum points goal at your school. Examples of Positions include PTO Board Roles, Room Parents, Committee Chairs, etc.

What is the Start Date and End Date of a Position?

The start date and end date of a position is used to help volunteers understand the time commitment of the position.

How do Points Accrue for Positions?

The app allows the flexibility to accrue points for the position based on the start date or end date of the position (depending on your school’s volunteer program policy). There is a drop-down selection to choose “Accrue at the Start” or “Accrue at Completion” when creating or editing a position.

Any existing positions on your school’s volunteer board will default to “Accrue at Completion” and can be edited by the event creator to “Accrue at Start” if applicable.

Family Profile
Children’s Grade Levels
Make sure any graduates of the 2021-2022 school year are removed from your family profile
Make sure any non-returning students are removed from your family profile
Confirm the grade levels for currently enrolled students are accurate
Talents & Interests

**STEP 4: **After completing the validation process, be sure to check the Volunteer Board and sign up for upcoming events in the new school year!
